Beginners' Spanish

This course, which is designed to be completed over 3 terms, is aimed at students with no previous knowledge of Spanish. All the 4 skills required in order to achieve mastery of a foreign language will be practised. Finally, aspects of Spanish life and culture will be introduced as and when appropriate.

This course will offer practice in the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. Everyday topics will be presented and practised through role playing and paired activities.

The form of Spanish used will be Castilian Spanish, although mention will be made of the other official languages spoken in mainland Spain. Finally, the role of Spanish as a world language will be considered.
