John F Kennedy and Lyndon B Johnson: the new Frontier and the Great Society
This course examines the presidencies of John F Kennedy and Lyndon B Johnson in 1960s America. We will consider the domestic legislation associated with the New Frontier and Great Society agendas and their impact. The course will examine foreign policy priorities including the War in Vietnam. Finally, we will evaluate the progress made by President Kennedy and President Johnson in addressing key issues facing America including poverty and the Cold War. The class discussions will be supported with primary source documents.
